Facial Rejuvenation

APT uses only leading non-permanent industry poducts for facial rejuvenation:

  • Botulinum Toxin A (Botox® Cosmetic or Xeomin Cosmetic) for smoothing unflattering lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles
  • Hyaluronic Acid (soft tissue dermal fillers like Restylane® and JuvedermTM ) for restoring volume loss and rebuilding facial contours

About Botulinum Toxin A

No longer reserved for models and celebrities, Botulinum Toxin A is one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedures performed today.

What it is

  • A physician monitored, non-surgical anti-aging aesthetic treatment that dramatically smoothes moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, crow's feet, forehead lines, neck and bunny lines in people from 18 to 65 years of age
  • An effective, safe, simple and fast way to reduce lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions
  • This purified protein reduces and relaxes the activity of muscles that causes signs of aging

How it Works

  • One 10-minute treatment - a few tiny injections - and within days there is a noticeable improvement in persistent lines on your face

What can I expect during my Botulinum Toxin Type A appointment?

A medical professional will determine where to administer the injections and how much Botulinum Toxin Type A to use by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your face. Each treatment is individually tailored to your specific facial expressions. You will then receive your quotation and all of your questions will be answered by our competent Medical Staff.

Once your consent has been completed by a registered physician, several tiny injections of Botulinum Toxin Type A will be administered directly into the targeted muscles that cause lines, e.g. frown lines between the brows. You may see a marked improvement in frown lines within days and results can last up to 5-6 months with repeated treatments.

What’s the difference between Botulinum Toxin Type A and filler such as Restylane® and Juvederm ® ?

Botulinum Toxin Type A targets and relaxes your facial muscles to prevent them from creating wrinkles. Filler smoothes and fills existing wrinkles, restoring skin's volume and fullness. Think of Botulinum Toxin Type A as both a corrective and preventative measure against future facial lines, and filler as a way to deal with lines already there.

Will one Botulinum Toxin Type A treatment be enough?

After about 3-4 months, your body will metabolize Botulinum Toxin Type A and lines and wrinkles will gradually return if not treated. If you do not continue treatments, the moderate to severe frown lines in the areas treated will gradually reappear over time.

Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?

Although the results are clearly visible, a treatment with Botulinum Toxin Type A will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you, 'had work done'. The muscle activity that causes signs of aging is simply reduced. So, you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases being visible when you are at rest and not making the expressions.

About Hyaluronic Acid

What it is

  • A naturally occurring protein in all mammals that provides volume and fullness to skin that's been lost over time to factors including sun exposure, facial expressions, and simply aging

How it Works

  • Dermal Filler like Restylane® and JuvedermTM contains Hyaluronic Acid in the form of a crystal-clear gel that is injected into the skin to lift the lip, wrinkle, groove or fold - creating instant volume and a more youthful appearance

Areas Treated

  • Common areas treated include nasolabial folds, lips, cheeks, fine lines above the mouth (smoker's lines), frown lines between the eyes, hollows/circles under the eyes, and acne scars
  • Filler also increases fullness of the lips and lessens the downward slant of the corner of lips

What areas respond the best to treatment?
(click to show...)

Basically, any areas where there is a loss of volume, i.e., cheeks, lips, and jaw line have significant visible improvements from filler treatments. Everything from fine lines above and below lips to deep wrinkles and folds in the cheek areas (nasolabial, melolabial and lines at the corners of the mouth) respond well and achieve dramatic anti-aging results from dermal filler.

Is Hyaluronic Acid filler safe?
(click to show...)

Yes. Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in the body and, therefore, will dissolve naturally over time. Synthetic, biodegradable Hyaluronic Acid has been used in Europe and North America for many years. In contrast to other biodegradable implants, filler is not extracted from animals. This means no risk of allergic reaction. Therefore, it is perfectly safe to use Hyaluronic Acid filler without pre-testing.

How will I look after my treatment?
(click to show...)

Following your injections normal activities can be resumed immediately. Discomfort is minimal. A little swelling may occur lasting a few hours after treatment. There may be some slight bruising that can be covered with makeup. Depending on the area treated, correction can last up to 6 months or longer. If the lips are treated initial swelling and tenderness may occur, but will subside after a day or two.
