APT Training Program

The APT Difference

APT Graduates are confident in their abilities to perform every procedure demonstrated in APT programs because:

  • 80% of program time is devoted to hands-on injection training allowing Trainees to sharpen skills, learn effective techniques, and build confidence as injectors
  • Trainees evaluate and treat 15-18 patients over a 2-day program - higher than other known programs
  • Training is tailored to individual skill level, experience, and practice needs
  • APT instructors are held to the highest of standards
  • Trainee/Trainer ratios are 2:1 maximum


About the APT Program Format

  • Prior to arrival preparation begins with assigned pre-course readings (4-6 hours)
  • Program days average 9.5 hours
  • All program days open with a didactic workshop presentation covering topics relevant to the content to round out the Trainee's knowledge and skill base
  • Demonstrations and practical injection training begins mid to late morning through end of day
  • Trainees evaluate and treat 15-18 patients during a 2-day workshop
  • Trainee/Trainer ratios are 2:1 maximum
  • Graduates receive a certificate of completion

  2. Facial anatomy and the muscles of facial expression
  3. Indications, risks, and benefits of treatments
  4. Potential income value of adding non-surgical cosmetic procedures to your practice
  5. Practical - demonstration of facial injections for upper and lower sites followed by hands-on injection time to treat:
  • Frown lines (glabellar complex)
  • Forehead lines (horizontal)
  • Crow's feet (periorbital rhytids)
  • Brow lift (medial and lateral brow depressors)
  • Bunny lines of the nose (nasalis)
  • Down-turned mouth (depressor anguli oris)
  • Eye jelly roll (hypertrophic
    orbicularis)
  • Gummy smile (LLSAN)

  1. Overview of anatomy and physiology as applied to skin
  2. Types of dermal fillers, their history, FDA approval, properties/mechanism of action, and indications of each product's use
  3. Emphasis on establishing client expectations, contraindications, potential risks, and proper injection techniques
  4. Understanding the consultation and treatment processes through interactive teaching
  5. Practical - Smoothing lines, filling creases, and contouring and enhancing facial features using dermal fillers in the following treatment sites:
  • Lips - enhancement and administering local nerve blocks
  • Melomental folds
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Cheek augmentation
  • Fine lines
  • Jaw contouring
Advanced Use of Hyaluronic Acid

Minimum 6 months experience injecting filler

  1. Presentation on use of filler for advanced facial enhancement
  2. Expert demonstration and hands-on injection training - particular attention to tear trough injections with added emphasis on:
  • Augmenting cheeks
  • Contouring the jaw line
  • Performing volumetric lift
  • Combining treatments with Botulinum Toxin A
